Show your pooch some good lovin’ on Dog Appreciation Day with these easy sewing projects. and when I say “easy” it means, “straight stitch” easy. So if you can make a straight stitch, then these projects will be a piece of cake for you.
Dog Appreciation Day is a celebration that started back in 2004 by Colleen Paige, an animal behaviorist. Since then, dog lovers have made it a point to show how much they love their four legged friends on this specific day.

Show Your Love To Your Dog Through Sewing
I got a couple of easy sewing projects lined up for you and your best friend. From your pooch’s shoes to a car hammock, I got them all for you. The patterns are really easy you can even hand sew them. Plus, other materials are cast-offs so you won’t need to spend money on it. Some of the projects here are also purrfect for your other pets. (Dogs are loving and they won’t complain, they’ll just give you more loving.) So let’s get on with the list!
1. Quilted dog bed

Gather up your scraps and use them to create this quilted dog bed. This is a great way to train your dogs to concentrate their activity in one area of the house only. Check it out here.
2. Dog dress shirt collar

One quick way to make your dog look smart on Dog Appreciation day is to create a dress shirt collar for them. You will just need to snip off the collar of an old button down shirt for this project. What do yo think about this process?
3. Cooling vest or backpack

This vest or backpack is perfect for guide or medical dogs. You can put in some treats or necessities in the pocket. Also, putting your phone on the pocket and letting the dog run around while you’re playing Pokemon Go is a great hack for hatching eggs too! Check the tutorial here.

I think this is a beautiful way to add style and color to your dogs. You can even seal off the bottom to create shoes or booties. Look at how its done here.

The bandana is a great idea to add cheers to a boring leash. You can use any scrap fabric for this one. Brighter colors would be nicer so you can always keep tab where your dog is when in you’re in a crowded place. Check out the steps here.

Keep your dogs’ four tiny feet protected with these booties, which is definitely one of my favorite easy sewing projects in the list.
