Booties to Keep Tiny Footsies Warm
Babies are so adorable! When my kids were little I always loved dressing them up. Everything has to match! I would even do cute baby booties in a variety of colors to match their outfits! My favorite pattern is the one we have in this tutorial. It is the easy peasy “fortune cookie” baby booties!
Since babies have small tiny footsies, this project is going to be so easy and simple that you can finish one piece in an hour!
You'll need the following:
- worsted / aran weighted yarn
- 2 knitting needles (7 US )
- scissors
- tapestry needle
Ready? Get set…let's go!
Step 1. Making the strips
We will be making two strips of yarn- a small one and a wide one. Since we are making shoes, we will need a pair of each. The length and width will vary according to the size of the babies foot.
For this project, the smaller one will cast 6 stitches in 24 rows. Now, the wider one will need 26 stitches in 10 rows.
Step 2. Sew both strips
Step 3. Making those booties
Tack the corners together using your tapestry needle. You'll notice that there will be holes on both sides. Simply pull the sewn corner forward. Hold it taut to form a baby booty and simply stitch around it to form the shoes. Repeat this process to the remaining pieces of knitted material.
Tada….! Here's your cute little booty for your equally cute baby!
