Supplies you’ll need to sew elastic casing:
- Iron & Ironing Board
- Elastic
- Fabric
- Pins & Safety Pins
- Sewing Machine & Thread
Step One: Fold The Top Edge Of The Fabric
In sewing the casing, fold the top edge of the fabric by half an inch first. Press the iron onto the fold to keep it flat. Hold the fold tightly as to avoid any accidents of pressing the iron incorrectly.
Step Two: Fold The Top Edge Of The Fabric – Again
Repeat step 1, this time fold the fabric by an inch before pressing the iron onto it. Secure the casing with pins. Do the same on the other half of the fabric.
Step Four: Insert The Elastic Into The Casing
Step Five: Stitch The Open Ends Of The Casing Close
After making sure the elastic and the casing are even, pin them securely together. Stitch the open ends of the casing -including the elastic- with the zigzag stitch. This will surely secure the elastic with the casing.
