For this sewing tutorial I’m going to show you how to make RELAXED roman shades. The difference is the dowel at the bottom. True roman shades have a flat edge, but these relaxed ones add a more casual and comfortable look – and when it comes to decorating I want my home to be as comfortable and inviting as it can be!

To Make Roman Shades you will need the following:

Fabric

  • Measure your window and add 5″ to the width and 15″ to the height.

Basic Sewing Supplies:

  • Fabric Scissors
  • Sewing Machine and Thread

Notions:

  • Drapery Cord String, 3 x the height of your window
